Dr. Alana M. Hofmann, MD

With a heart for patient-focused care and giving back to the community, Alana Hofmann, MD, is a transplant surgeon at Willis Knighton John C. McDonald Transplant Center and WK Advanced Surgery Center.

Dr. Hofmann appreciates the ability to give patients a second chance at life by specializing in organ donation and transplant. Whether working to qualify patients for a transplant or treating advanced hepatobiliary cancer, Dr. Hofmann uses advanced medical treatments and surgical techniques. To give back to the community, she promotes community awareness of living donor transplants to provide high-quality organs for patients in need. In addition to transplantation, Dr. Hofmann treats cancer and diseases in the liver, gallbladder and bile duct with minimally invasive procedures (hepatobiliary surgery).

Board certified in general surgery (American Board of Surgery), Dr. Hofmann considers herself well-rounded with experience performing general, robotic, vascular access and transplant surgeries. She completed a six-year BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, followed by a general surgery residency at the University of Central Florida/HCA Consortium Ocala. Dr. Hofmann pursued her passion for transplantation surgery with fellowship training at the University of Cincinnati. 

In her personal time, Dr. Hofmann enjoys cooking as she finds a balance between healthy and tasty. Outside the home, Dr. Hofmann enjoys playing tennis and looks forward to joining the tennis community across Shreveport-Bossier City.
